made a mutie pillow today with fabric left over from my moirail’s scalemate \u/ (which i don’t actually have a good picture of atm)
this was much more simple than the scalemate but i did the pattern myself and i feel like my sewing is getting much better. wish i’d put a little more stuffing in though.
sewing is really fun and relaxing, i want to do it more often!!
I WANNA MAKE ONE OMG
As seen here.
Finished dimensions: Approximately 4’ x 5’

The most common question I get when I wear my ancestor costumes at cons is how I sewed on the colored details, so I figured I’d write a little about it. Below the cut I’ve covered my process from supplies, pattern drafting, cutting and ironing, and the stuff that requires actual sewing. I hope this helps someone!
I took more progress shots of my Mindfang costume, but not enough to make this tutorial, so I’ll be filling in stuff with some Dolorosa pictures too. Just in case you’re wondering why the fabric colors switch a lot.
Hand-sewn, hand-painted. Felt fabric. Tulip matte black paint. Painted the buttons white with nail polish.
I am totally nuts.

Working on my half of an art trade with rasuzu and I figured I’d show you guys a neat little trick i discovered for cutting more complex shapes from fabric accurately. It’s pretty self-explanatory but basically:
1. Trace image with tracing paper and transfer onto back (paper side) of heat’n bond - it will be reversed/backwards but it’s supposed to look that way
2. Iron it on
3. Cut out the shape(s) on the lines that you transferred
4. ????
5. It is now ready to iron on to your fabric of choice
Heat’n bond is basically a sheet of paper that’s sticky on one side and you can iron it onto the back of fabric to make the fabric stick to things like t-shirts or… other fabric haha, there are lots and lots of different brands of this stuff out there but this is by far the best one I’ve ever used. It’s great for appliques and little details like this - just be sure to cover your fabric piece with some scrap cloth when ironing it down to protect it.
yeah… sewing is cool
And a side-by-side of both God Tier pillows :3c Done for a trade, they were a lot of fun to make!
For more technical information, they’re 14x14, with a pillowform and fleece. The design was hand-cut and hand sewn, so was the pillowcase.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with them! I might make a Mind one for myself. I can’t take commissions for these but I can sell ones with the zodiac signs, hit me up if you’re interested or check out my commissions page on my top links bar!
